Funny how I thought to write a blog entry tonight and realized it had been a year (almost exactly!) since my last post. I'll never be a famous blogger, that's for sure! Perhaps its my Scorpio nature. Secrets hold more fascination for me than sharing every flitting thought that flies through my head. But tonight, the spirit has struck! So, here goes.
I have that feeling that comes as the harbinger of a giant shift. Its been creeping up on me for days and has become undeniable. Tonight I am restless and can't sleep with a vague feeling of expectation, trepidation and excitement. I can feel change coming and I know that my life will never be the same. I can't yet tell what that change will be. I'm not sure it even matters. Life is change and, large or small, it is just the flow of nature. But I can sense it sneaking up on me.
Every time a major change occurs in my life it brings with it a deepening of my understanding of my own nature and creations. As I gather wisdom and years, the changes reveal deeper and more fundamental parts of my being. The revelations are not always pretty. I've learned a lot about my darker nature over the years. But more often I'm blessed with glimpses of who I am on the deeper levels of my being-- beyond my own illusions, fears, hopes, dreams, lusts and hallucinations. I believe that each time my personal Earth shifts under my feet I become more of myself. I wonder what this change will reveal.
How do I know change is coming? What is this feeling that is giving me goose bumps?
I would love to say that I am feeling an unbridled joy at the prospect of flinging my life to the wind and letting the Divine carry me where it will. But, to be honest, I'm feeling fear. Not crawl-under-the-covers fear, but more of a deep inner knowing that I am going to give up something that is both very precious to me, and very limiting. I am feeling a premonition of necessary loss. I feel like a snake who knows it must shed its skin, but is afraid of having no comforting limits or structure to contain it. Like a flower within the bud that is both craving the light and fearing sunburn. Like a baby about to be birthed.
Each time I have been through an experience of deep growth, I have deconstructed a part of my life that was limiting me in some fundamental way. Early on, this deconstruction was done with the utmost resistance as the Universe dragged me, kicking and screaming, into a place of greater freedom and greater awareness. I realized long ago that resistance is futile. Allowing is a process of Grace, while trying is a function of the Ego. I have learned that consciously releasing my limitations and worn-out creations is far easier than resisting the change. I have learned to celebrate shift and to trust that it is taking me to some place within myself and in my life that will be far more expanded than where I have been. All of this knowing, though, still doesn't erase the feeling of jumping off a tall cliff and falling through space. It is that feeling that I have now.
In this space of premonition and trepidation, excitement and anticipation, I am walking through my days simply asking Spirit for Clarity and Grace. I don't want to avoid this shift. I intend to embrace it, whatever it may end up being. I only ask that I be led to shed my skin with as much elegance as I can muster. I don't ask for total understanding, as I know it is both impossible and completely unnecessary. Knowing the "whys" doesn't change anything. It is only an attempt of the ego to control the process. But I do ask for clarity and that I may see each step I am to take. I don't need to see the whole picture or the whole path. I only need to see where to put my foot next. Its time for me to walk forward on my path. Or, maybe to walk around in circles. I'm not sure.
I firmly believe that this guidance will be given to me as I focus on my heart consciousness. I know from prior experiences that the more I try to "figure it out" the less I'll be tuning into that part of me that already knows where I'm going. I know that the mild sense of fear I feel is not coming from my heart. My heart is peaceful. My head, however, is not so sure it wants to give up the known for the unknown. Perhaps gaining the clarity of each step forward requires nothing more than quieting my head, turning up my heart and listening to the direction its beat is giving me. Moving with that beat. Dancing forward.

Bones
Hiking in the late October woods today reminded me how powerful a teacher nature can be. It was a beautiful day with bright sunshine and crisp air. I was walking where I usually do; up on top of the mountain where I live.
At this time of year, the foliage has all fallen and the ground is orange and brown with leaves. We call it "stick season", as the bare trunks and branches of the trees reach up to the sky like sticks or bones. When the foliage is gone and winter is setting in, there is revelation in the landscape. Today, I saw peeping through the leaves the skull of a deer that had died last winter and been sunbleached and cleaned by the weather throughout the summertime. "The bones are being revealed." I thought to myself.
As I continued my hike, I realized there was an ancient stone wall running through the woods that I had not noticed before. This is not unusual for Vermont. A hundred years ago, this state was 90% deforested and made pasture for sheep and cows. Now, the state is 90% wooded and the forest has swallowed the fields once again; leaving remnants of the old stone walls that used to define property and keep animals contained. "More bones." I said to myself.
I could feel some deeper meaning behind the bones of the land being revealed in this season, and so I took a few minutes to sit in the sunshine under an old birch and feel it out. It didn't take long before the land spoke to me, as it often does, like I'm a small child that is none-too-bright.
"Its when you are laid bare that your bones are revealed." the Earth said. "In the hardest times, when you see winter coming in your life and the bounty is gone, you find those solid bits of yourself that have been brought to light for just such times. Some of these bones are ancient things that you were taught in childhood or when you walked upon me in another suit. Some of these bones have been grown in this life, through hard work and hard experience. Others are remnants of your ancestors, propping you up with deep knowledge.
When you are covered in the verdant green of summer-- the bounty time-- you forget about these bones; these hard, strong parts of you. Its when you feel the cold coming that you look around and find them. Don't turn away from these bones. Sit with them. Own them. Rub them together and sing over them. Let them hold you up and keep you company through the long nights ahead.
The challenges you face and the bones that are revealed show you who you are-- and who you must become if you are to complete your walk in good form and with beauty."
As the voice in my head quieted, I thought about my bones; those parts of me that show themselves when I face trying times or difficulty. These are the parts of me that I honor most. It's easy to be spiritual when things are going well. But it's the times when challenge bites us that were made for Spirit. Its those times when you're meant to pull out your bones...and sing.

Body, Mind & Spirit
Galactic: 12.19.17.16.12
Gregorian: 10.10.09
The phrase "body, mind, spirit" is used everywhere these days, to the point of its becoming a cliche. However, if we look at the deeper meaning behind this phrase, we discover a simple plan for personal growth and an accurate measure of personal balance. By checking in on these three levels of self on a daily basis, you can quickly learn where you need to focus your attention in order to attain wellness and to progress on your path in a balanced way.
If you're on this site, chances are you spend a lot of time focusing on the "spirit" aspect of the "body, mind, spirit" trilogy. Spiritual growth is an important part of anyone's life, as it is what allows us to find our place in the Universe and in relationship with the Creator. Everyone is growing spiritually-- but not everyone is aware of the fact. Even those who reject spirituality or the concept of a larger consciousness are still on a path of learning and spiritual growth. You are, in fact, as spiritual in this moment as you are ever going to be. You are the embodyment of conscious creation and as such you already have within you all you need to unfold to your highest potential. The process of spiritual growth, then, is not one of "becoming more spiritual" (an impossibility), but instead is a process of unfolding to what you already are.
Coming to know yourself as a part of creation and, in so doing, finding your right relationship with All-That-Is, is the ultimate goal of every spiritual path. Reflective practice in any form is the most directive way to attain this understanding. Reflective meditation, prayer, or contemplation is an age-old practice that allows for this unfolding to the spiritual self. In the stillness that this practice nurtures, you come to understand yourself as an integral part of the Divine. By making space in your head for the practice of consciousness-without-an-object (being in a state of consciousness without being conscious OF some thing), you are making space for Divine consciousness to express itself through you. This is why meditative discipline is so important to spiritual growth. Without it, we can have difficulty finding our proper orientation in the Mind of God.
To check your balance on the Spirit level, ask yourself, "Do I make room daily in my life for mindful contemplation or meditation?"
The next leve is that of the Mind. Ideally, the mind is a tool of the spirit, acting as the translator between spiritual consciousness and the manifest world. With daily meditation, the mind moves closer to being a clear instrument for Spirit. Without daily meditation, the mind is no longer policed by Spirit and instead is left to police itself. This leads to obsessive or habitual thoughts that can prevent you from having the clarity and direction that Spiritual consciousness affords. I call this the "squirrel on crack" that lives in your head. Mindless chatter, busy thoughts, worrying, projecting into the past and the future, and losing your inner peace are all symptoms of this "thought rodent" taking over your personal attic.
The power of the mind is astounding. If you are in control of your thoughts and focus, you become master of your reality. Your emotional experiences are direct indicators of your mind state. The emotions that are directly responsible for your inability to be empowered in your life-- fear, worry, low self-esteem-- are all generated by the thoughts that your mind generates in response to the questions you habitually ask yourself. By changing these thoughts, you can change your emotions and empower yourself to take action to create your reality in a conscious way. There are amazing tools available to help you change your brain state, thought habits, and other mind-based imbalances. By taking direct action to become master of your own mind you will directly accelerate both your spiritual growth and improve your physical reality.
To check your balance on a mental level, ask yourself; "Where am I focusing my thoughts right now?" If you are focusing on negativity, projection into the past or future, or other non-productive mental gyrations, take a few minutes to focus instead on positive affirmations, positive questions, or to balance your brain using a hemispheric synchronization audio.
The final and most grounded level is that of the body. Often it is this level that receives the least attention from those on a spiritual path-- even though they may be healers or wellness professionals. Why is this? Caring for the body is a direct reflection of how you care for yourself and your own needs on a daily basis. You may be stellar at caring for others, yet not prioritize your own self care. Your body is the machine in which your spirit drives around. By ignoring, neglecting or otherwise abusing this machine, you are impairing your Spirit's ability to manifest in this realm and therefor impairing your ability to fully manifest your Spiritual path on the planet.
Almost all neglect of the body comes from neglect on the mind level. By bringing the mind level into balance, the body will naturally follow. For instance, I used to think "I don't have time to exercise". What this really translated to was, "I don't believe that my health is a priority over other demands on my time". I was an emotional eater, allowing my thoughts to generate emotional states that would drive me to punish myself or reward myself with the witholding of or overindulgence in food. And, I was not being diligent in policing my thoughts for habitual bad questions, such as "why am I unable to lose this weight?" ( I wasn't) or, "what can I grab quickly to eat?". By simply shifting the mind level through some applied technologies and simple practices, I was able to reprioritize my health and physical fitness and at the same time master other aspects of my life that had gotten out of control.
Daily balance on the body level allows for more energy, focus, stamina, health and general well-being. To check your balance on the body level, ask yourself; "Am I doing all I can do to prioritize my health and fitness?"
These three simple check-points will help you to identify where you need to come into balance, and how you can better empower yourself to gain mastery in your life and on your spiritual path.

9.9.9 Gateway
Today is the 9/9/9 Gateway. Many of my friends in Australia have already shared with me their experiences of this powerful day that we in the states are just beginning. On the sacred Mayan calendar (sacred because it records the pulse of creation, not because it is worshipped) today is 1 Imix. This is truly a beginning date, as Imix is the Alligator-- the first daysign of the Tzolkein.
Imix (Alligator) is related to the East, which is the place of the birth of the sun, representing beginnings. Its energy is that of new ideas and new creative impulses. Today is a great day for daydreaming and envisioning new ways of being. Be like an Alligator drifting in the space between the conscious and the unconscious-- the Water and the Air.
This daysign's number, Hun, tone 1, also represents beginnings and the the sowing of new seeds. It is a day of solitary visioning, exploration of self and one's relationship with All That Is. Today's energy of 1 Imix is truly one of generating ideas for the future and Dreaming one's role for the future. The next time this combination of energies (1 Imix) will occur will be May 27, 2010, which is also the date of the second harmonic convergence. So, today's energy is a precurser to the energy that will be available to us in a more developed form next year.
On the Gregorian calendar side, the energy of today's 9.9.9 gateway opens the vibration for the higher energies of benevolence, expansiveness and Universal Love. These energies are characteristic of the higher levels of Galactic consciousness that we are now beginning to experience at the end of the 5th day of the Galactic Underworld on the Mayan sacred calendar.
In both western and vedic numerology, the number 9 represents the energy of Humanitarianism and in its higher aspects, Spiritualism. This heralds in a time when humanity will be working toward peace, equity and the end of using violence in an attempt to solve problems.Vedic numerology also ascribes the planet Mars to the number 9, which in its lower aspects can generate warlike action. So we see that the healing crisis of this 9.9.9 doorway may be an increase in military action and violence, paralleled by a growing peace movement and global spiritual renaissance.
Just as the 8.8.8 gateway last year brought about global lessons around abundance and money (different things!) through forcing us to see where we were out of alignment with True Abundance, the 9.9.9 gateway may bring about lessons in on personal and planetary levels around peace and humanitarianism.
I believe that the action most warranted during this time is looking very closely at where you are not in peace in your own life, and how you can cultivate world peace by BEING peace within. The old-age idea that you can "fight for peace" will be recognzied as nonsensical and insane. This is true in our personal relationships as well as on the world stage.
Amen and please pass the peace!

Beyond the Shift - Part II
Galactic date: 12.19.17.14.1
August 30, 2009
I received tons of feedback from people regarding my blurb on 2012 that I posted in June, with requests for more information, resources, etc. There is a tremendous amount of confusion out there regarding 2012 and the Mayan calendar (including the end date itself). While I am not a Mayan calendar expert or a Daykeeper, I am intensely interested in how this ancient wisdom meshes with the flow of evolution that I have been tracking for decades.
To reiterate my message from June, Earth changes and catastrophe are the least important aspect of this great shift. If that is what you are focusing on, you are missing the point by miles. However, your trepidition is understandable given the misinformation that is permeating our media regarding the Mayan calendar (as well as other ancient prophetic sources) and the astronomical event of December 21, 2012. For an example of this "doom time" scenario (or "catastrophobia" as it is called by Barbara Hand-Clow) check out the spectacular (and spectacularly silly) 2012 movie that will be released in November. Oops! There goes Los Angeles! Talk about reinforcing the completely wrong idea! That isn't to say that Earth changes aren't happening and won't continue to escalate, but again, they are not the point.
In that much of my work is that of an Evolution Facilitator, I have read just about every book out there on the Mayan calendar, 2012, and what this time period means for human evolution. If you are confused about where to start, please start with Carl Johan Calleman's "The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness". This book is by far the best in my opinion; meaning the most coherent, the best researched and the most informed. Calleman clearly outlines what this time period means for us, leading up to the completion on October 28, 2011, and the integration by December 21, 2012. It is also my personal favorite because it clearly outlines what our evolution may look like over the coming two to three years. Most important in my mind is that it is based on the correctly calculated Mayan calendar, which is very different from the Dreamspell™ calendar that I had previously used and assumed to be correct (it isn't).
What is becoming glaringly apparent to me is that this evolutionary shift that humanity is undergoing on the personal, cultural and societal levels is about moving into the energy and reality of love. As many of you know, this has been the driving force of my work for the past decade or so, and continues to be what I consider to be "the point" of this great shift. And, I am not alone. From the work of the Institute of HeartMath, to Gregg Braden's writings, to that of countless others, it has become clear to me that the concept of love (and more importantly, its frequency) is the thread that is stitching together our new reality.
By "love", I'm not talking the about ego-based, "if you make me feel good, I love you; when you no longer make me feel good, I leave you" definition of interpersonal love. That belongs to the old paradigm. I'm talking about actually generating the frequency set of love (the frequency set of both the energy of creation and true abundance) and from this energy experiencing a physiological and paradigm shift in humanity, upon which an entirely new societal, economic and physical reality will be based.
This is why I created the Primus meditation. It is not just a fluffy, feel good meditation. It is designed to shift your body, mind and energy systems into this frequency set so that you can begin to experience your reality from this new vantage point, and create your reality from it. Only by shifting individually can we shift as a whole. We must make this shift now if we are to successfully complete the evoutionary path that is described within the Mayan calendar and other prophetic traditions. This is the time that humanity was created for! Be a part of it-- not just a witness of it-- by informing yourself about what is occurring and how you can best shift into the new paradigm. Then, spread the word!

Beyond the Shift - Part I
Greetings everyone!
Lately I've been getting a lot of questions about 2012, its significance, and what I think will be happening at sunrise on December 21st. On that date, the solstice sun will rise into the center of the milkyway and in alignment with galactic center. This powerful moment has been prophecied by many cultures, but most significantly the Maya people of Mexico and Central America. Nostradamus and other significant seers of the past also fortold great change and, sometimes, catastrophe occuring on or around this date. Many people are concerned about survival through this time of change, believing that this date will mark the "end of the world".
For those of you who have attended my workshops, you'll know that I'm not a "grab your gun and your can of beans and run for the hills" kinda gal. The fear based panic that is being fed by both the media and some spiritual teachers today is, to my way of thinking, completely counter to the entire point of this shift. You ARE going to die. That's a given. SO WHAT? Spirit is eternal and death is an illusion. Who cares if you die crossing the street and getting hit by a bus, having an asteroid land on you or through some other calamity? Focusing on 2012 as the nexus point for one's fear of death is counterproductive to say the least! The great lesson in this time is not "surviving the shift". It is in evolving through this tremendous energetic gateway of opportunity that we have available to us at this very special moment in time. And that evolution begins now!
We are already in the shift. Everyone I know is experiencing the breakdown of old forms, a refocusing on what is truly important to them, and a shift toward living more in balance with the Earth. This shift began in earnest on the 8/8/08 gateway and will continue to intensify as we move through the next three years and beyond. Old forms that are not in alignment with the new way of being are falling apart. Our fears and phantoms are coming to the surface of our minds and realities so that they can be illuminated and transformed. People are responding to this massive shift in energy and consciousness in very different ways. How you choose to respond is a direct indication of what your experience in the coming years will be.
One of the most dominant themes of this transition to higher consciousness is the need to return to balance with the Earth. People are feeling a deep need to reconnect with nature and the Divine-in-nature. The drive to live more sustainably is fueling a back-to-the-land movement that is not about fear of starvation or natural disasters or plagues in the cities, but is instead about walking in balance with the planet and living in a more centered way. The loss of jobs and even homes, as painful as it is, can be an opportunity to make changes to a simpler and more centered way of life. Working to raise one's consciousness beyond the fear based "survivalist" mode, and into the higher consciousness of the co-creator is a critical part of this shift-- both for one's self and for the planet at large.
Will there be earth changes and disasters coming over the next three years? Probably. There are very real signs that we are on the brink of some major transitions that are an important-- even integral-- part of the natural evolution of our planet. Poles may shift. Oceans probably will rise. Earthquakes, floods, tornados and volcanos will increase if all of the current signs and portents are true. The magnetic field of the Earth is disappearing, allowing huge quantities of galactic and cosmic light to enter our atmosphere. The financial systems of the world have taken a hit and will not recover anytime soon. But these symptoms of change are not the point of the 2012 gateway to a new age. They are the birth pangs.
The effects of these symptoms can be greatly reduced by choosing NOW to live in balance with the planet. This means looking closely at what the Universe is asking you to give up through current changes in your life that may look or feel like loss. Also, looking at how you can live a more self-sufficient and sustainable life. This may mean moving to an area that is less populated, where you can grow some of your food and have clean water and air. Make these changes as a co-creative movement back into balance with the Earth-- not as a survivalist, fear based choice. As more people make the shift to sustainable, conscious living we will be facilitating the healing of the Earth and humanity. Making this transition in a centered, conscious way will enable us to thrive through this transformative time. Even more important is focusing on positive co-creative thought and action. You are not a victim of these times. With proper consciousness you can thrive, expand, enjoy and celebrate this amazing opportunity for growth and change.
When you wake up on December 21st, 2012 what will you do if the world hasn't ended? (and, I sincerely belive that it won't!) What reality will you wake up in that you had spent the previous three years creating? What energy will you be taking with you through this shift that we are already experiencing? Will you carry forward fear and surivival mode thinking that will only perpetuate the old ways? Or will you emerge with a sharing, caring, cooperative and conscious mind-set? Will you be alone in your home with your gun and your tin of beans, or will you have cultivated a cooperative caring community that can mutually support one another through any difficulties or challenges that may arise? Will you be living in a sustainable way, or mourning the loss of the local supermarket? Will you be afraid or excited?
Make this choice NOW, as it will be the sole thing that determines how your experience of the shift will unfold. The choices and decisions you make today about how you want to transform as we move collectively toward the 2012 gateway will not only affect you. These choices will affect all of us. Choose consciousness, love and true, simple abundance. Choose life, not survival!
